InDesign is great for creating anything from menus, to whitepapers and ebooks
I don't dislike anything about InDesign
InDesign is great for all of my layout (both print and web) needs
It's effectiveness, ease of use and support. InDesign has a well-designed interface and integrates smoothly with the rest of the Creative Cloud programs which provides seamless integration. It can be easy to learn the very basics of InDesign, but it also has complex features for advanced users.
It could be hard to use complex features without proper training or classes. It isn't a software built for an average user.
I use InDesign for all page layouts, conference materials or anything that would go to a print vendor. I really like the added digital interactive features with fillable PDFs, or animated features.
Many many years ago I used Quark, Quark Express, and Pagemaker as early desktop publishing applications. InDesign is a product of each of those great works of art. I like that I can design documentation quickly and easily, and set up the document presets even faster. I actually use InDesign as a logo maker as I like the text options better than any other software.
There's not much I dislike. So this actually may turn into more of what I like than dislike...but honestly I use InDesign 5-6 days a week as my main software for my job as a designer. It does what I want it to when I want it to. I will say that when importing vectors from Illustrator, I'd like them to come in grouped rather than not...it would make my job easier rather than having to select the entire graphic and group it If it's grouped in one application, it should stay grouped when bring it over.
I work as a Senior Graphic Designer within a Marketing Department. I'm solving documentation problems by designing cover to cover product documentation for B2B and B2C facing materials.
I appreciate InDesign's intuitive features. It's very easy to create professional documentation for our company and I like it remembers specific colours related to our brand design guidelines. I also like that you can create material for a variety of mediums, including online and print.
I would like the opportunity to create files beyond PDFs, such as TIFF and JPEG. Moreover, some features like creating books should have easier features to update/change the size of certain pages in case you need a larger page inside the booklet.
We use InDesign to hand in proposals and other marketing materials. The benefits are most noticeable in the templates we have created with this program and the ease in which to produce content for our organization.
The software is easy to use and it brings editor and writer together to create comprehensive graphical output. Creative cloud library helps users to share their work, colors and styles. It helps us to create interactive eBooks or magazines powered by slideshows and even animations. Our customers are exceptionally fulfilled the fine arts completed by Adobe InDesign.
In the event that the user works with numerous undertakings, it can slowdown the performance of the computer and to avoid such issues it needs high performance PCs which can be pricey. Occasionally user can be confused with the massive number of tools available and it has lengthy learning curve.
Adobe InDesign helps us to create company brochures, marketing posters, PDFs and flyers. It has pack of valuable tools which really give stage to make innovative thoughts. It allows to export PDF with tags which can be viewed later on web browsers as well.
My business is literally built around products that are almost fully developed in InDesign. I love how easy Adobe makes it to create and collaborate using the Creative Cloud. It's made the product design process seamless for my remote team and I.
Honestly, I can't think of anything that I dislike about InDesign.
InDesign allows me to create digital products that are high quality and easy to edit. It rarely crashes and also allows me to collaborate on projects with my remote team in a streamlined and efficient way!
As a professional desktop publishing tool, it helps us to create company brochures, magazines, books and annual report of the company. It has comprehensive set of tools organized in clean interface including exceptional layout tools and large variety of fonts. The HTML export feature helps us to export simple codes when they work on layout design of the websites.
The lengthy learning curve is a challenge for every user yet plenty of resources available on the internet for purpose. The performance of the computer should be bit higher. The program can freeze in the middle of a project, and the only option might be restart where user may lost all the progress.
We use the program to create attractive company brochures which are highly appreciated by our clients. The user has pool of options to play with and support to create an eye catching design in the end.
If you are well versed in the program, you can do almost everything in graphics.
Some fonts can not be imported and aren't available in the Adobe Cloud.
Creation of graphics, posters, posters, brochures, vouchers and more. All the things in graphic.
I've spent the majority of my career in communications, particularly publications. I COULD NOT do my job without Adobe Indesign. No other software that I've tried comes close. Indesign is easy to use yet offers a variety of options that make it the perfect tool for anything from a basic flyer or social media graphic to a large magazine.
My only complaint is that it's difficult to edit materials created with the newer software in an older version. However, with the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, it's really not a problem.
Where do I begin? Every week, I'm responsible for a number of publications, both digital and physical. And I'm able to design all of them with Indesign. I never have to start from scratch and it's easy to transfer my ideas within sizes, no matter what type measurements I need to use.
If you're looking for a program to layout a book, flyer, promotional product - Indesign is your jam! Indesign is great for formatting books and long documents as well as one page pieces.
It's a little less intuitive compared to Illustrator.
Indesign makes it easy to quickly bring in large amounts of copy and keep them flowing seamlessly between pages.
I used a lot of softwares for designing treatments and documents, but InDesign is the best so far. In less than a day, I knew how to use it very well. It's SO EASY to use, and it's REALLY COMPLETE. What I love the most is the possibility that you can choose twice the side of the image on the document : The place on the document, but also the size in it ! The tools are really similar of the one on the other Adobe software, so it's really familiar !
I would like a tool "lace" to trace the contouring of an image not necessary as a square. And maybe some tools or effects to change the color/contrast/clarity of an image, like in Photoshop.
I design treatments really faster than in Photoshop or Illustrator, because InDesign work like a book, you have a lot of pages on the same screen, and you don'y have to be one page by one, you can work on one, and work on an other one the second after without quitting the software, uploading an other one... (Like I was doing with Illustrator or Photoshop). It's like you're designing a book and I love it!
Indesign is a great tool for publishing documents and creating print layouts. It’s great for creating resumes, contracts, forms, articles, and more. It is also a great tool for working with typography. It integrates flawlessly with other Adobe products to incorporate elements into your document. It has the ability to create complex layouts with tables, columns, and graphs.
There is a steep learning curve if you are a beginner due to it’s complexity. Many of the tools are very time consuming, and can get frustrating to use at times.
I prefer Indesign over any other processor to create my documents. It has allowed me to create publications that look professional for myself and my clients due to how precise it can be.
I love indesign. It is so simple to use. There is nothing easier for page design. You can even do logo design!
While it has many of the same tools as Illustrator, they are a little more difficult to get too. It would be nice to have some photo editing capability within Indesign, as well.
Working in marketing, I design a ton of brochures and marketing material. I do this all in Indesign.
This products features goes ABOVE & BEYOND the functions we need. No matter what we need, they've thought of it.
Can sometimes be confusing as there are a lot of options/tools.
This program greatly affects our workflow. We are able to work on projects much more efficiently.
Adobe InDesign provides a clear, user-friendly interface. It is a top-tier software for publishing, especially when it comes to multi-page layouts. I love it's compatibility with multiple file types - you can easily convert files into different formats. It also handles large files very smoothly.
For single page graphics, I prefer to use Illustrator as I find the editing capabilities to be more streamlined. InDesign can struggle with very complex, detailed graphics. Copying from Illustrator into InDesign does not always come out accurately. With that, there's a bit of back and forth between the two applications. They could be streamlined a bit better.
InDesign allows me to quickly put together multi-page print documents in various formats. Converting file types was a pain-point before, but InDesign makes it a seamless process. The master page function saves me so much time from updating pages individually.
Master pages, character, paragraph, and object styles. And mostly - GREP!
It's a resource hog but the benefits far outweigh this one negative.
GREP allows me to format large documents easily. And the formulas can be saved to use for future projects.
The ability to work with layouts and typography are the greatest upsides of working with Adobe InDesign. The layout features on the software allow one to make any type of page. It also allows users to play around with shapes and figures to enhance their designs. This is achieved through the alternate and liquid layout features. I also like the scalability of designs that provide a clear image of what the outcome will be. I also like the export options and the integrability of the software with other Adobe products that allows for ease while working with multiple oftware.
Adobe Indesign is only limited by its steep learning curve. However, users have access to material on the internet to enhance their usage of the software.
We mainly utilize Adobe Indesign for our design need of a material that is composed of more than one page such as brochures for our marketing needs. The main benefit of designing using the software is the fact that what one sees is what one gets in terms of scale and design which is a great thing.
I love how easy it is to use. It has a well-designed interface that is almost entirely customizable.
Prefer if it had more photoshop presets as well to easily edit images within the program.
Creating beautiful print and digital layouts for single or multiple pages.
Easy to use, great program for small tasks and for large graphic tasks, love that it is so professional looking, and love the graphics that is the end product.
Dislike that the files can be saved in big sizes, so the resolution for images can be quite big. Need a little bit of training to use the program.
Problems solved: simple graphic changes and able to change and open pdf files so easily.
