"The most cost-effective solution for effective email marketing and lite CRM use"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Active Campaign has several standout values that elevate it above competitors. For me, I value simplicity; ActiveCampaign packs a full suite of tools (automation, segmentation, CRM functionality, pipelines, email marketing, landing page builder) all into one package, which is not new. However, I struggled with other tools that felt like each tool was a separate entity; Active Campaign feels so easy to navigate and understand, which makes using it much easier than tools such as MailChimp, for me at least.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Sometimes, the cost can seem a little daunting (unless you're opting for the Lite package), which made my transition from MailChimp and CovertKit quite a challenge. I do feel like it is better value for money than the alternatives, particularly as the database of contacts grows, and I don't feel 'upgrade envy', but the price could be a smidge lower. Also, I've found that integrations with other platforms are not as comprehensive as I'd like them to be. All in all, I'd take points away for cost, integrations and the tool can sometimes be a little sluggish to load new windows.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Problems to solve: - Too many tools for email marketing, CRMs, automation, page builders, chat bots - Expanding contact database size requiring updates Benefits realised: - ActiveCampaign has made me downgrade our Hubspot package, remove my subscription to ClickFunnels, and some WordPress chat plugins. - I didn't realise we also had SMS marketing, which was another service I was going to pay for that is now unncessary - Database scaling seems to be much more cost-effective now

"I'm a HUGE fan of Active Campaign"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Active Campaign is a really intuitive system. You don't have to spend hours training and/or reviewing instructional videos in order to understand how to use it. As a former Infusionsoft customer, this is a big deal for me. I became fairly adept at using Infusionsoft, but it took me a LONG time, a lot of training and quite a bit of money for coaching on how to do it. With Active Campaign I was able to jump on and begin designing automations right away, without instruction. When I ran into a question I would simply search the help forum or reach out to support (super fast and super friendly, by the way). But I didn't have to go through weeks of prep to build campaigns like I did with Infusionsoft. All of the features are easy to use and the price is right. I paid twice as much for Infusionsoft and didn't feel the additional cost translated to more value. As I mentioned earlier, the support team is great, very responsive, and very helpful. I LOVE being able to, at any point in an automation, direct a contact to be dropped into a Facebook Custom Audience. This feature is amazing!

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I don't dislike anything, but there are a few enhancements I feel would really add value to Active Campaign: - More integrations with other platforms. More and more integrations come about as time passes, but I still have to use Zapier sometimes and I'd prefer direct integrations. - The ability to build landing pages. This feature is offered by Click Funnels, Infusionsoft and, I believe ConvertKit. Great value-add! - The new Conversations feature is great but I'm hoping it will grow and improve over time. It would be great to be able to program keyword-triggered responses.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using Active Campaign is so simple it saves me a ton of time and I get the reporting data back I need to determine the success or failure of a campaign. I'm able to easily link automations and campaigns together in a way that enables me to direct people to where I want them to go in the sales funnel very easily! Plus, I'm able to push people from an automation into a Facebook Custom Audience automatically so I don't have to manually do it, which is great.

"An extremely easy-to-use marketing automation tool for your B2B or B2C business"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

1) Marketing automation features: Activecampaign provided a very easy-to-use interface for marketing automation. I could create unlimited automation and easily connect them with my landing page provider. The automation offered a wide range of options like conditional actions or editing Google Sheets that saved me a lot of time for some data management tasks. The marketing automation features came with an easy-to-use interface that allowed you to monitor the status of automation and which users are inside the pipeline at which stage. 2) Ease-of-use: the interface was really easy to use. I could send emails to my whole mailing list in a matter of minutes. There were a lot of templates and content-generation features that facilitated to create and customize email templates very easily. 3) Pricing: The pricing was really competitive and added huge value-for-money. It is always hard to scale a mailing list to thousands of subscribers and the prices of hosting that mailing list will skyrocket, but Active Campaign made it very affordable and effective and a no brainer investment for my business. 4) Useful Analytics: there were a lot of useful analytics features that I could use to determine the effectiveness of my email campaigns and I used them to understand what kind of subject lines or contents resonate better with my audience. I could see how each and every subscriber is attentive to my email campaigns and estimate the motivation of my prospects within the sales process. 5) Customer support: customer support was magnificent! there are a lot of educational features that Active Campaign offers to learn the best practices behind email marketing. Also, the platform was really easy-to-use when it came to billing, upgrades, and customer support features.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Nothing special. Everything was great with regards to Active Campaign software.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

1) Online sales via email marketing funnels: achieving effective conversion rates in my online sales campaigns 2) Community building: scaling a community from 300 to about 5000 subscribers with an affordable mailing list hosting price. 2) Useful analytics for B2B and B2C sales funnels: understanding the behavior and prospects and customers. 3) Customer segmentation: segmenting my audience based on their behavior using marketing automation.

"Great and easy platform for the price"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Pricing was definitely what made me choose Active Campaign vs Infusion Soft or Hubspot. I really like the CRM in Active Campaign and the email builder, although they really need to implement a search bar in the image library.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Creating automation can be challenging and very time-consuming. They offer 30min free call once per month with my package, however when you start it's hard to achieve anything in only 30 minutes. But for the cost, I feel that it was the best option out there compared to the big players. I also had the issue of not getting any emails delivered to hotmail and other microsoft owned email providers for almost a year and lost considerable business. When I discussed it with the Company, they were quite understandable and offered me a generous credit for the months that I had an issue with email delivery. So it made me want to stick with them. Just make sure you use your own domain to set up your emails when you start using it. Now I just switched from monthly to yearly payment after 2 years because I feel I can trust the platform to help me improve my business and signed up for more coaching to improve my knowledge with the platform. On all the marketing platform expenses we had to cut down during Coronavirus, Active Campaign is the only one we kept to improve our inbound marketing which should be much cheaper in the long run than typical advertising.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tracking my leads, building my lists, started building a few automation for newsletter sign ups. Looking to develop sales pipelines in the short future.

"Robust Email Marketing Tool"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

ActiveCampaign has matured and become one of our go to weapons in the toolbox. The ability to share campaigns between clients, visually troubleshoot funnels, add multi-layered intelligent automations and more. Love the ease of use and responsiveness of the application when setting up campaigns. Alot of ESP's backend is so sluggish I hated it but ActiveCampaign moves swiftly. Lastly I love the support you receive via chat I've been able to figure out just about everything on my own whenever stumped by hitting up tech support.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

My number one complaint is pricing. The price jumps are so dramatic from level to level and starts to cost more than many of the other large enterprise solutions once you get above 5000 contacts. This is by far the biggest gripe of both us and our clients. I'm sure you shortening your lifetime value due to over pricey top tier plans. My 2nd dislike is the CRM. Much to be desired and a long ways to go before it's really in position to be used like a normal CRM. Way striped down and extremely limited in functionality. This one definitely needs some attention and then AC would really be kick ass!

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Streamlining our process by facilitating easy sharing of campaigns and email templates between accounts.

"Great value; helpful tutorials and support"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I like the variety of features and tools for the price. I particularly like the ability to segment lists --- and my mind doesn't work in this organized fashion and it's been fairly easy for me to pick up with the support provided. I left another marketing automation service and the price was much higher and the service significantly less helpful -- they did not care about their customers and with ActiveCampaign I do feel valued. I like the conversations I've had with team members - everyone has been helpful and worked to find my solution. I look forward to learning and doing more. I did a lot of research before making this selection and feel like I made the correct choice.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I feel like the system for reminding me on tasks is a bit more complicated that I need for a quick entry. But I also acknowledge that I may just not have come across the proper way to do that yet. I have more to learn and more time to spend on it. While I always have the ability to make a quick appointment for discussion/training and there a a lot of tutorials available -- sometimes I'd just like to call and be walked through a tasks at the moment. I know that's a big ask. I'm ok with how it is but that could be a nice improvement.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Organizing my lead an client data so I can send targeted messaging and understand how I can improve my media to better run my business, marketing and sales. It has helped me set goals and determine where my budget is best spent. I am currently working on using to improve communication with current clients to send updates as well as alerts.

"Excellent CRM Marketing System for Small Business"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Our team was able to set up and learn Active Campaign quickly and easily. As a small agency, I appreciated the reasonable fee structure which made this system so much more affordable than their competitors. For example, so many systems charge a fee for each user per month which made them cost-prohibitive. Our Active Campaign Plan allows up to 25 users which allows us to expand our business at an affordable cost. Also, their tagging, forms, and email templates are of great quality. The system itself is a clean design, intuitive and powerful for any marketing needs. We love the AC email automations & use them for our own business and for clients' marketing services. We were able to connect our proposal software with Zapier although we were impressed with the number of native application integrations.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

It's the best system by far in terms of overall organization & use. I wish forms did not require CSS for full customization. I also wish we could customize dashboards a bit more & generate more customized reports but overall, we are very happy with Active Campaign and see it as a huge means for our agency to grow.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Automating our marketing and using more interactive email marketing has been a game changer. We love being able to see when someone has ready an email and other actions they've taken. We still haven't implemented many of the features but plan to do so soon. The video training offered by Active Campaign is exceptional.

"Powerful automation for blog email list"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I migrated from another provider that targetted bloggers but was a lot more expensive. I got a significant upgrade in functionality when I moved to ActiveCampaign. I use the Lite plan, without the CRM features, but it's more than enough for my needs. My favourite features are the built-in automations and the automation "recipes" that are already set up for you. An automation recipe is a quick start workflow which means you only have to select the recipe you want and fill in the blanks. This significantly reduces the amount of work you have to do when you first set it up (although there will still be a learning curve to understand how it all hangs together). There are recipes for almost every scenario you can think of, so for example, I have automations that automatically tag people when they visit my site regularly or when they stop doing so. I then have other automations that trigger based on those tags to e.g. send a sales email with a discount to the most engaged or to entice them back when it looks like they may have lost interest. These automations also remove subscribers from my list if they haven't engaged for a long time, thus keeping the costs down. Other things I like: The overview screen for automations so you can see which automations can trigger other automations. Reports showing the overall growth of my list (average new subscribers per day vs numbers unsubscribed, etc). Multiple lists for different purposes, but each subscriber is counted once, regardless of how many lists they are on. Again, this keeps costs down but also allows me to track e.g. online customers separately from customers that attend a training event.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The one "downgrade" from my previous provider is that there is no built-in way of uploading a file, such as a PDF, to ActiveCampaign so that I can offer it as a content upgrade to my readers in exchange for their email address. You can set up such files, but the file has to be hosted on an external service, such as Dropbox. IMO, this adds an unnecessary layer of complexity when you first set up the service, although to be fair, it works fine once it is setup. You can set up and save segments and saved searches for email campaigns and automations, but that part of the interface is a bit clunky. It's not always clear whether you are saving a search or a segment (or both) and it's not straightforward to see and understand those segments outside of the campaign setup screens. For example, I have several segments that detail different interest areas my subscribers may have. I can select one of these segments to filter the contact list, but I can't check from there the precise logic that I previously set up. I'd like there to be less of a price/feature jump between the Lite and Plus plans. I appreciate there are more features available in Plus and higher plans, but it would be nice to see more CRM-type features in the Lite plan (or a "something in between" plan) for some of them. As my business grows, I can see that I may need some, but not all, of those features in the not too distant future, but the current price difference would make me delay investing in a higher plan or find a cheaper workaround altogether.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a blogger with 2 websites (different audiences on each) ActiveCampaign gives me everything I need to grow my email list, keep people engaged and - crucially - remove disengaged subscribers from my list. And all completely automated, aside from the regular campaigns I schedule in advance. As a part-time solopreneur this has enabled me to grow my list and keep my audience engaged, even when I am doing my "day job". I would recommend it to any blogger who needs a similar level of automation: it's as though you have a team working on your blog, even when you don't have a team!
