I love Invision. Invision isn't just a prototyping/mockup tool, its a workflow. Invision changed the way I work. It makes showing clients and collaborating on projects a breeze. I also love the other things Invision has to offer. I use boards all the time to make mood boards for both personal and client projects. I have one board titled "Personal Inspiration". It has anything saved that inspired me; photographs, designs, screenshots, etc. And the new tool craft? Don't get me started. Its awesome. It makes mobile prototyping in sketch a total creative powerhouse. I can mockup mobile prototypes so fast its nuts. Thanks invision for the game changing stuff, keep up the good work. I recommend invision to anyone looking to up their design game. My clients love it and I think yours will too.
$15 a month for 3 prototypes feels a bit steep to me, but I understand too that they have to make money somehow. Other than that I am completely satisfied.
I solve UX/UI problems for my clients. Invision allows me to speed up the review process by putting my design solutions in an easy to use format for my clients to experience the mockup.
I loved the interface and the ease of use for expert users. ALso the onboarding process as it is super well explained. The customer service is top level.
The UI uses quite dark colours and sometimes there are not enough contrast. For me it is okay, because I am at a great retina screen, have lots of pixels and I am a pro user. However, lots of my clients, especially from public sector and government dont have neither the privilige of a great screen, nor the necessary experience online to work with these prototypes. Also, lots of people in this business use windows tablets, phones. Invision does not work that well on those The commenting feature looks slick, but sometimes it is very easy to get lost in the structure of comments and skip a few.
It more than a prototyping tool, as I can actually get the necessary feedback super easy. - The communication aspect of it.
I love the ease of use and the quick learning curve. I watched the beginning tutorials and within the short amount of time after watching the video I was able to pick it up.
Wish it had more animation features, but I know they are working on that. We've had a difficult time getting everyone to use it, not just the designers to put it into our work flow.
Having a good visual that doesn't just show them what it looks like, but shows them how it works. It allows for way less meetings and generates better conversations on the best way to approach a situation. It also is a great way to show our developers and how we expect it to react.
Everything is really simple... prototypes are easy to build, to maintain and to send to clients for validation. Not being an "all in one" tool like others, I'm able to work on my favourite Ui software (Sketch or Photoshop) and use Invision just for navigation and animation purposes.
A think that tthere are 2 things missing: 1 - A better support for building animations (custom ones) 2 - An "inspector" mode to let developers inspect PSD's or Sketch files to view fonts, colors, sizes, margins, etc
As a UI / UX Designer, my goal is to create the best UI for my client needs. Invision helps me prototype my ideas and get feedback from my clients.
As a designer that doesn't have coding as my primary skill (yet), I love making my visuals in Sketch and being able to seamlessly update my clickable prototype by simply saving and syncing. The experience is seamless and the folks over at Invision also are dedicated to helping designers grow in strengths and skills easily. There is also a great support system and helpful emails.
It can be difficult to onboard off the bat if the user is not used to setting up correct artboard sizes (HD vs. SD).
Mostly testing and iterating. This tool is great because there also is a live mode where you can watch and also comment on how users are using the prototype like a live notation stream. Great for teams.
It's incredibly simple that you don't need to take too much time to learn how to use it.
I can't make carousels. I can only do vertical scrolling.
Incredibly fast prototyping.
I love being able to easily upload my designs and within just a few clicks can display how my product works. There are always new features, and the team over at InVision focuses on bringing new ideas to the table. Their videos are super helpful, along with the demos they show when they release new features.
Honestly, there has not been a terrible experience with InVision so far. Sometimes when uploading a ton of screens its been confusing to make them all link up and flow correctly (but this isn't a bad thing because it just makes you think more :) ).
I think InVision really lets the project speak for itself, rather than having to explain to a client how exactly everything works. It makes communication easier and also allows for a better understanding of the project flow.
Drag and drop screen replacement and dropbox sync are super convenient for an efficient workflow. Sharing with clients is easy. I love the ability to have discussions with clients in comments on specific features, and using comments to track to-dos. I also love being able to create mobile prototypes with functional gestures and home-screen icons. Their blog/newsletter is interesting and insightful, and their customer service is responsive, personal and polite.
I would love if I could create a user story diagram using the screens in my prototype, and have them automatically link. Additionally, if they had user testing scenarios with analytics, like Splash, that would be an added bonus.

InVision's app is a really simple to use prototyping and collaboration tool. By just using it for a day, you can tell it's a product that's been meticulously well thought out, there's not feature bloat. Personally it gives me everything I need to be able to create rapid website prototypes that I can share with my Magento Developers to instruct and collaborate with them on new changes to our ecommerce website. I use their prototyping to relay design and functionality changes that our ecommerce store needs to make after a round of conversion rate optimisation tests have ran and have identified a new winning design. I can then mock up the new design and share this with our Magento Developer partners who will code up the changes we need based on these prototypes.
I've not found anything so far that I think is annoying or that is missing other than the ability to maybe download individual screenshots rather than the whole project. But this is not a big issue.
Being able to visually communicate our design changes takes away the risk of our developers spending additional time correcting issues with their proposed designs due to a lack of understanding on what the new design should look like and how it should perform.
The fact that you can present your ideas visually and create prototypes and comments to support your decisions rather than trying to explain your vision to someone over email or phone. InVision allows you to present your ideas flawlessly — I have gotten far better feedback when providing visuals through InVision compared to simply explaining my ideas. You can leave comments and notes for fellow collaborators, create guided tours in addition to prototypes, and even leave dev notes so that the development team can implement your ideas as you envision them.
It's tough to say...being a web-based platform there are seldom downtime issues and a few bugs here and there, but other than that it's a solid tool that I use in my work every day. Their support team is phenomenal and will get to the bottom of your issue within hours!
Sharing design ideas to fellow (remote) collaborators and presenting to clients — the largest benefit is that by creating a prototype the client can actually see with decent accuracy how their app or website is going to function and flow. It communicates a lot more than seeing flat screens designed out and placed in a PDF.
Ease of use, tools, great final product. This product has saved me time and money, over and over again, I can get the job done.
I could use some basic built-in draft drawing tools before having finished, polished images
Creating functional mock ups for apps
It's free if you only need one project, syncing/updating files using 3rd party cloud storage definitely speeds up workflows, being able to share only select screens for feedback, intuitive tools for creating extremely realistic prototypes to share with your team or clients, excellent collaboration tools.
Can (though rarely) be buggy (e.g. slow screen response, random screen refreshes, slow syncing), organization of screens could be better in build mode
We need to rapidly iterate on website designs and get feedback from various people in different locations. Real time collaboration has replaced scheduled meetings which is huge.
InVision is a great tool that is easy for both our team and our clients to use when collaborating on a project. It’s user friendly and it does exactly what we need it to do. The designers can work on their projects while clients and the team make comments.
Nothing. There's really nothing bad about it.
Instead of using a design only tool, we use InVision to design and collaborate, both within NowSouring and between clients.
I love the presentation and viewing features. While doing a live share with clients, we're able to make comments in real time, as well as send links, point out elements, and sketch if needed. It seems like they've thought of everything for this particular aspect of the software. I also like how easy it is to organize projects and upload design screens.
There are still some bugs, some of which I believe they are working on. I wish you could choose which sections within a project you want to upload screens to. There is a great feature where you can copy screens from one project to another, however there is a bug where it only allows you to copy into the 7 most recent projects.
We're giving our clients a beautiful viewing platform which makes our company look more professional and lets our designs shine. We also now have a tool where we can communicate internally. As the Art Director, it saves me a ton of time by making comments and notes on the actual design during a client presentation which then serves as the list of edits for our design team.
The InVision platform works anywhere and does a really clean job of focusing all stakeholders into a process that reduces time-on-task and increases productivity. I also like the ability to always know where a given project stands and can access creative work in an instant-- all in one place.
Sometimes I have a batch of emails from Invision where I should start with the most recent, as comments have flown by since my last check. This is usually remedied by going to the Invision project, where I'm caught up immediately... So this is likely a bigger criticism of that old whipping horse, email itself (not surprising).
Working most productively among distributed teams. The benefits are 1) a beautiful showcase from which to view work (no attachments or other foibles of the Web to deal with), 2) consistent, centralized design processes (good project mgmt), 3) a single place for all comments, feedback and history of work, 4) Invision team has been responsive and helpful!
Overall InVision works great for most of our clients. I love that fact that we can share the whole design and make links to other pages to give the Client a better user experience while in the protoyping phase.
One of the biggest downsides about InVision is that the client can't copy the content on the protype to make edits. We have asked many times when will this happen but yet to see this feature added. Clients then have to add comments like " before the word ... add ... then after the word... add... This can make thins extremely confusing for both parties.
There solving the visually and content side of the protype before the design moves into devleopment. We have multiple phases we walk them through to get us close to 100% approval before adding the functionality.
InVision is an excellent tool for developing user interfaces based on feedback, specifications, and collaboration. It allows me to communicate with my clients and coworkers in real time. I may also test how my app prototype works or will operate on my phone. The degree of detail that can be specified is truly limitless; we use InVision fairly frequently when revamping the user interface for website modernization projects, and what we enjoy about having this tool is that it is valuable to all members, whether they are designers, testers, or developers. Images are the most effective method to convey a concept, and this tool helps us to everyone be on the same page about the end aim.
One disadvantage is that going between modes, demo mode to prototype mode, requires too many clicks. It would be fantastic to have a responsive UI option that automatically resizes/scales desktop layouts to match mobile view. The screen size of my app layout, as well as the navigation size of the link they provide me to check on my phone, are not optimal. It is not dependent on the size of my phone, yet I must design my app to fit the size of my phone.
The main issue we're addressing with this solution is that cross-functional team members can acquire the information they need to be successful in their respective tasks. I'm currently developing an application, and the benefits include saving time and effort as well as making my job easier; UX/UI designers can create prototypes, developers can find the exact specifications they need to follow, and testers can use those specifications to understand what they're testing. We can also display these prototypes to consumers early in the development phase and collect their opinion, allowing us to swiftly adjust the design depending on their feedback. Because the complete strategy has been spelled out, this tool has helped us eliminate confusion and limit the number of meetings we require.
I like experimenting and collaborating with my coworkers, and I've discovered that using InVision Inspection makes it simpler to communicate concepts to developers. Our team surely works better as a result of this platform; you can also add features such as name, address, object generator, and picture production. It's wonderful that prototype hotspots are easy to use and have lovely default animations. Also, because many mobile designs are stored on a device by default, there is no need to include device templates in design files, resulting in decreased file sizes and simpler sharing.
I dislike how difficult it is to update design files after a project has already been formed; you must be extremely cautious to choose the specific files that changed, when on other platforms, such as Adobe XD Prototypes, you simply click a button and done. One thing I didn't enjoy about inVision was the extremely hefty monthly pricing. Rather than searching for instructions in a separate area of the website, I'd like to see more tutorials in the applications or on the mobile app.
Every design-to-production coordination difficulty our team has had in the past has been addressed through InVision. Prototypes are easier to share with developers or reviewers. InVision bridges the gap between client and designer in terms of feedback gathering, information transfer, and contact. We are required to demonstrate interaction behaviors to them as we create web pages or applications, therefore we upload JPG files and link them with access points to interact and test them before sharing them with my colleagues. InVision is a fantastic method to display these concepts with a simple way to share them, in my opinion.
Real time checks with my clients, and colleagues . I also can check it on my phone ,how my app's prototype working or will work.
The screen size of my app's design and browsing size (the link they provide me to check on my phone) is not appropriate. It's not according to my phone size, though I have to build my app according to my phone size.
Right now I am building an app. And benefits I am getting is easy to use, they are very handy and so easy to use them.
The Invision web app is faster and better than some of the native apps. Easy to share and collaborate designs. Hundreds of free templates help with the quick start of any design. Creating any complex design is easy with all the customization. Easy to switch between views to inspect or to get an overview. Also, a Native Mobile app is available.
Startup time is slower. Getting Animation correct could take time.
I have been using this app to create prototypes for android/ios mobile apps. It helped me share the design with the client and get a quick feedback.
