IONOS Pricing Overview

I like that 1&1 is has been a solid web hosting provider that we have been able to use for hosting business websites and landing pages. The uptime has generally been very good and their customer support has done a good job at responding to issues we have. I also like that we have access to many different types of web services, like email hosting and domain registration, that often have discounts or coupon codes that make the prices very low. The user account interface has a very simple layout and design with tools that are straightforward to use.

I don't think 1&1 has much to dislike overall, but their page loading speeds are typically slower than some other websites I've seen with similar web page structures. I think 1&1 can do a better job at increasing the efficiency of their shared hosting plans. When we talk to customer support about this particular issue, they often don't have many low cost solutions to offer.

The websites and landing pages we've hosted with 1&1 have been a great informational tool for customers and leads. We haven't had heard of many online visitors having trouble loading pages, so 1&1 uptime and reliability have been good for our online business and marketing effort. The cost for most of 1&1's services have been very good, so they have really helped to minimize our expenses while giving us significant value.

The price that 1&1 charge for domain purchase is very competitive.

I do not feel that that 1&1 offer good value for money. Their services are priced at a premium and do not live up to the company's brand promise. My customer experience with 1&1 has been very poor. I'd rank it alongside that of low cost B2C service providers such as telcos, utility providers, etc. Access to support has been very slow, the company's systems are inadequate and I've found my dealings with 1&1 very frustrating. Little things like slow call pick ups, failure to transfer customer ID between colleagues and unresponsive IVRs grate after a while. I've also found the services provided by 1&1 to be lacking. Three examples are: 1&1's hosted MS Outlook solution processes emails very slowly. We've often waited hours for an inbound email to show up in our inboxes. Many never arrive. No such issues with Google at Work apps. Domain hosting is very restricted. There is no possibility for TXT and SPF verification unless taking a dedicated server package, so you'll have trouble with Office 365 and other email services that support sender verification. 1&1 has great customer support to help us through technical issues. When we faced malware with some of our websites, 1&1 was surprising very knowledgeable about possible causes and solutions. Instead of search around online for solutions, we were able to receive direct answers or at least be lead in the right direction by talking to 1&1's support team. About the 1&1's service offerings, they offer generous amounts of bandwidth, server space and account features for relatively low prices. They have first-year domain registrations deals that are far below the price of many of its major competitors. Our hosting account has extensive administrative tools that allow us to effective manage our web files and domain names.

The second-year and beyond pricing for domain name registration jumps up quite a bit. Even though customer support can be helpful, using 1&1 to host your websites tends to require more technical knowledge compared to pre-built website platforms like Wix and Weebly. Customer support will probably not be able to help you through all malware infections, so you face more of a risk when creating websites in this type of hosting environment.

1&1 has been an effective platform for domain registration and management and hosting for our web pages and email accounts. We've been able to post marketing materials and submission forms that allow users to register online or direct visitors to contact us about services. We've been able to minimize our costs by creating many web pages and forms from scratch or with low-cost templates. Our monthly costs have been relatively low and we don't regularly experience performance or security problems.

There are lots of discounts, seriously tons of them! We've got a domain and hosting for less than $12 a year! Comes with unlimited subdomains and emails and possibly more depends on your luck.

Although we all the offers, the original prices are still higher than other companies. So be sure to look for discounts and offers, those are awesome and mind-blowing! And one important thing to know is that there are a lot of restrictions like files quota, you have 10GB quota and you have only used 2GB but it says you have reached a limit, files limit. My file limit is 262144 files, if you have more files for that, you will need to call them. Oh and they don't usually provide cPanel, and they charge a fee for cPanel.

IONOS has worked well for getting good page load speeds and a full range of control over our hosting account settings. We can manage email accounts, FTP accounts and most of our DNS settings with the IONOS account management page. When there are confusing settings that need to be made, IONOS is typically easy to get in touch with to help us with those.

IONOS hasn't had too many negatives, considering the price. It's likely not the fastest in terms of server speed, but we do get a good value of all expected features for the price.

We have gotten outstanding uptime and customer support from IONOS. They have support staff that can be reached whenever I call them. Even the initial support team is very knowledgeable. I usually don't have to be transferred to advanced support to get the assistance I need. The pricing was also very beneficial for us.

The pricing was unbeatable when price shopping domains at a yearly rate. The rate hasn't gone up either which has been awesome.

Sometimes the customer service takes a bit of time to get back to you, but once they do it's helpful.

I like that I was able to purchase a domain for my design portfolio site (being reworked) at a reasonable price, along with knowing what I was actually purchasing (privacy, iccan fee, etc). The auto-renew feature has saved me tons.

I hate that I am sent an invoice with a certain date via email to find out it is more of a "ballpark" date to be charged. I am used to either being charged automatically or if there is an issue having my real bill date and paying instantly by card, PayPal, etc. The whole billing part is a downside.

I am able to purchase a domain to help with my design site for my clients and personal projects. You have to have your presence online to reach more clients and other amazing people to work with beyond your location.

I like that 1&1 is a fairly large company that has a pretty big support staff and many different servers for its customers to use. I think the 1&1 account portal is simple enough to use and gives us control over many of the common hosting management activities involved with our accounts. For the price, we get a good amount of standard features and capabilities including good server storage space, bandwidth and email forwarding accounts.

Some of the renewal prices go up quite a bit after the first term on items. I also don't really like how 1&1 automatically renews products by default. I remember when some of our product renewals were coming up, we got an email notice with the new pricing and I was so surprised at how high the prices were compared to when we registered them.

I can host many types of websites and web media through 1&1 hosting. We can also register domains and add many types of common service extensions such as SSL certificates and premium email accounts. We generate a lot of business through our websites and landing pages and used many of the different types of databases in order to store dynamic content for websites that have constantly changing information.
