I like it because it is very easy to learn and you can manage to create medium complexity apps very quickly.

There isn't much that I do not like, I would prefer if we could have more performance and quality monitoring tools available as free modules

I very like modeling the logic of a business process in Microflows and associations.

That you can not open two Microflows at the same time.

The platform has given us the power to win the UWV/ SVB of oktober 2017 with Mendix. Within 24 hours we wore able to build the 1st solution. With its great standard features, and powerful extension capabilities in the form of building custom widgets we have made a single page app that was connected to Microsoft Face recognition, Google Speech to text and many more external services.

You need to be a fullstack programmer to truly capture and also understands its power. Its not for the business user, but for the professional who wants to develop at lightning speed.

Mendix allowed us to make an MVP (a Proof of Concept) in less then 24 hours. That is architectural designed with security first in mind. Capable to be used in a high demanding and high available IT environment.

It doesn't require tons of programming knowledge to build an application. Despite the default professional-looking styling, it's really handy to edit the styling as well!

Some documentations could be added and the idea forums could be used as a reference more often.

Integration with other web services, especially SOAP based, but also other RESTful services, is extremely streamlined. Data structures and web service calls are auto-generated, and sending of files via different protocols is supported without any extra effort.

The App Store is critical to meeting customer expectation, because it features hundreds of ready-to-use components. The problem is that some of the components are not-updated regularly by their owners, and since Mendix is not the owner, support for these components is hard to come by.

Closing the gap between business and IT. The ease of use, looks fantastic visually. Its a full package, you do not have to think about scalability, security, uptime it has all been arranged.

Mendix provides an accessible platform for rapid development of various applications. Even though there are some limitations on what could be developed, the possibilities are vast. The extended possibilities combined with the speed and flexibility ensure that Mendix is a powerful tool.

The user interface of the desktop modeler has a few obvious shortcomings. The developer portal is very basic, especially for the administration of userstories and sprints.

Mendix seems to be splendid in connecting with existing applications and replacing older/inefficient applications.

When adopting Mendix as application platform within your corporate organization, it is a perfect solution to develop, maintain and expand your applications fast and easy, without coding. Besides that the Mendix platform offers a broad range of great functionalities like integraded Scrum, responsive design building, UI design, team collaboration, deployment etc.

I think Mendix is only profitable when you really adopt the platform throughout your whole organization. When you don't, and also for smaller organizations, Mendix can be too expensive.

Mendix is a platform that is designed to create complexity in a matter of hours with tools that are simple to a developer, yet have a sophisticated underlying layer or logic. This helps in creating smart apps in a short period of time.

If you want to create an app for a smaller company, they will most likely not like the expensive license.

The Mendix platform is an easy and very intuïtive development platform that alllows you to quickly build applications. The company has a strong focus on continuous improvement of their product.

There are (of course) still areas for improvement. With the Mendix Modeler it is still lacking 'speed' to compile the applications for runnning/building packages and although it has improved a lot, auto-sizing/placement of items on the microflow lines is not optimized and cost time as a developer to line-up all the items of you want to remain clean and organized.
