"Great low-cost email marking solution"
What do you like best about Kit?

ConvertKit allows you to set up simple automations in order to manage your email lists. While this isn't the most robust system in the world, it is perfect for companies just getting started with email marketing who do not yet need all the bells and whistles that come with solutions such as Ontraport and Infusionsoft. I also love how you can create simple landing pages.

What do you dislike about Kit?

Their form builder is very bare-bones. I prefer Aweber in this respect, since you can design forms directly in their dashboard. With ConvertKit, you can only build simple forms, and need to do any design work on your website. They also do not have email templates.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

ConvertKit definitely saves money if you need simple email marketing software. It is less expensive than the more robust solutions, which have more options than most people need, but you can still do simple automations.

"Automated flows have never been easier"
What do you like best about Kit?

Convertkit is rather basic in what it offers. Nothing too fancy, nothing too complicated. But that is why we implemented their solution very fast. We switched from Mailchimp for our mail automation needs and we were up and running in no time.

What do you dislike about Kit?

It is a rather small and startup-alike team. It means occasional downtimes and improvements on roadmaps that change from time to time.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

On a regular basis we create a new website for one of our products and start sending automated mails to those interested. Creating an easy flow with the simple solution that Convertkit offers, we were able to convert many leads to engaging with us. It does not require you to work too hard to make it work... And that's a big plus.

"Can be a challenge"
What do you like best about Kit?

I switched to Convert kit from another provider because it appeared easier to use. It has a nice clean well laid-out interface and lots of tutorials. They have good customer support.

What do you dislike about Kit?

The free plan is available for up to 1000 subscribers, however, there's not a lot you can do with it so if you want to send out automated emails etc you need to upgrade. The next package up is the creator package @$15 per month.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

Convert kit allowed me to create landing pages and build an email list.

"Convertkit, very good for email lists and tagging, but the page builder isn’t so great."
What do you like best about Kit?

I really enjoy how easy it is to create automations and sequences for my e-mail list. I found it to be very easy to get set up quickly and have everything on auto pilot!

What do you dislike about Kit?

The landing page builder is really not very good. I find it difficult to create a sales page and landing page using Convertkit. I've had an acceptable landing page, but once I began using Leadpages, I realized how inferior Convertkit is, in that aspect

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

Convertkit is a decent all in one platform and it's email deliverability is very good! I just dislike that it's difficult to edit the landing pages. Also, trying to create a sales page seems impossible. There's also no help in trying to figure out that problem. That is why I have switched to leadpages for page building

What do you dislike about Kit?

The UI needs improvement. It can be buggy at times.

"User-friendly and easy to start for the not-so-tech-savvy"
What do you like best about Kit?

For someone without a lot of technical knowhow, you can simple, clean, great looking emails. Even someone like me, who is tech-savvy and has used almost every major email marketing provider, the CK setup time is great.

What do you dislike about Kit?

Sometimes it would be nice to have the option to create something more "showstopping" for special occasions. The landing page templates also aren't that great - but they'll do and they're great for those without skill or who are short on time. The cost. Now they have a free plan. I feel like they could have had one for years. Eventually, when I purged my list and was starting over, it didn't make sense to pay them $50/mo to manage a handful of names.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

I switched them from MailChimp years ago when I wanted easier and faster ways to segment my audience without creating multiple lists (thereby counting contacts more than once). This was before MailChimp had a tagging feature. They also had landing pages before MC did (if memory serves me correctly), so it was nice to be able to quickly create a page and tie it to my mailing list.

"It has helped me improve traffic to my blog through email marketing campaigns"
What do you like best about Kit?

It has helped me improve traffic to my blog through email marketing campaigns, which I can create in just a few steps and in that way increase the reach of my content, another thing that I really like is the fact that it is quite accessible in money matters, with other applications it happened to me a lot that if I had repeat people in the list of recipients they charged me a penalty for the duplicate, however Convertkit does not do this, which is a great relief for my finances. Besides leaving tasks scheduled to run automatically without the need for me to be aware of them at all times, the interface is also quite easy to use, which is why for me it is a fairly powerful tool

What do you dislike about Kit?

I feel that it needs to exploit its potential a little more, since currently it seems to me that it is a very good option compared to the other systems that circulate, but nevertheless I believe that they have remained stagnant and have not sought to improve their functions to continue up front compared to the others.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has been very useful to me to design my email marketing campaigns as a mechanism to help a massive dissemination of the content published on my social networks and informative blog, since in this way I manage to increase the number of visits to my profile and in that way to be more recognized in the digital world.

"streamlined interface (once you get used to the jargon)"
What do you like best about Kit?

Convertkit is best for those who want to write streamlined, text-only emails to their users. While it offers plenty of formats for things like landing pages and in-post CTA's, the emails themselves are very simple. No designs, no templates. Just text like you're emailing a friend.

What do you dislike about Kit?

The move over to Convertkit can be a bit clunky if you have several lead magnet journeys, but the team is very accessible and responsive over Basecamp, so as long as you're in contact about the transition process, you'll be fine.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

We moved over to Convertkit from Mailchimp because despite Mailchimp priding itself on ease of use, we found it ultimately too complicated to customize as we grew. Convertkit's emails are simpler, but the visualization of email journeys is much easier to work with.

"Perfect for When You've Outgrown MailChimp"
What do you like best about Kit?

I love how easy it is to create an automation, tag subscribers, and create sequences. I love being able to target my emails to the most receptive people.

What do you dislike about Kit?

Since it is a newer email service provider, there have been times when I've had issues with deliverability and emails not making it to the subscriber. I've always been able to resolve those quickly with the help of support. I don't like that I have to worry about it though.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

ConvertKit solves the problem of keeping in touch with people who want to hear from me. It's a great solution for people who have outgrown MailChimp (or who are sick of paying double for subscribers) but don't need the power of InfusionSoft. ConvertKit makes it easy for me to tag subscribers based on the actions they take when reading my emails and this lets me create content based on those actions. More importantly, it lets me make offers to people based on their actions.

"Easy to use email mailer"
What do you like best about Kit?

I love that everything is one place: email sequences, opt-ins, landing pages, forms - no more having to link everything together! ConvertKit is simple to use - especially if you want simple letters with essentially no frills. There's no setup time, nothing to learn - you can just start sending letters.

What do you dislike about Kit?

My biggest concern is the lack of SEO options on landing pages. What advantage to me is it to use their landing pages if you can't edit SEO important fields (meta-description, page title, etc)...AND their lack of SEO overrides anything you do on a Wordpress page? You want people to be able to find your opt-in...which means you want it optimized for SEO. It's impossible to fully do that using a ConvertKit landing page. (Most of the time I use a naked form on a landing page built off my Wordpress page now.) Also, remember the no frills? Sometimes I want frills. I'd love to be able to change text color without having to edit css each time. I'd love to be able to click to add a simple link to remove someone solely from a sequence, instead of the entire mailing list.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

The best part about ConvertKit is the ability to send opt-ins easily - with very little time for setup.

"Convertkit for a start email marketing platform"
What do you like best about Kit?

Convertkit is fairly simple to use for email marketing. Building templates, emails, and segmented lists is pretty straightforward.

What do you dislike about Kit?

The forms, landing pages, and triggers, require a bit more developer skills if you want them to look anything different than generic Convertkit material. It gets a little complex but the Help Center is generally a good resource.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are looking for low cost solutions to sending targeted email campaigns by our different segments.

"Not for newbies, but no doubt great for growth"
What do you like best about Kit?

CK have a help desk which is responsive in good time. There are lots of tools to use and regular improvements are made.

What do you dislike about Kit?

Personally, I found it complicated to manage all the moving pieces. Maybe because I was still learning the mechanics of online marketing.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

When I first signed up for CK I paid annually as there was no free subscription offer. I was paying for things my business did not need at the time. It now has a free level and I now have a free account whilst I transition over to another supplier that suits my needs better.

What do you like best about Kit?

One of the advantages of using Convertkit is the organizational aspect. I managed several email marketing campaigns for a client, and I had the ability to maintain each one with the dashboard.

What do you dislike about Kit?

I wish there was a feature that would allow you to work within a post, but also allows you to actively scroll the content listed on the left.

The ease of managing campaigns in one space has proved to be very helpful to me, and the client.

"Ok for beginners to email marketing but not for the longer term."
What do you like best about Kit?

ConvertKit is easy to use and has some nice integrations to Wordpress, WooCommerce and other applications making targeting and segmenting your customers and prospects easily. This is a huge benefit over other email providers. Eg I can market to all customers that have purchased a specific product or not purchased a specific product.

What do you dislike about Kit?

Adding Emails: You can only use their forms/apps to add customers/prospects to ConvertKit or you have to manually upload them. They do have their own API to allow you to custom build integrations but unlike every other mailing provider with an API, this doesn't include the ability to add people?! So when I realised that their Wordpress app didn't support people registering a Wordpress account and ticking a box to register to a mailing list I thought I would be able to do so via the API. But you can't. So its great if you are small or just want it to do simple out of the box things but anything slightly out of the ordinary or wanting to integrate to a system they don't support? Then you are stuck. So I'm having to manually add in the email addresses into Converkit which is just crazy. Support: Support is quick to respond but their knowledge is very basic. Even though they have an API multiple support people thought an API was their forms you can create an embed on your website?! It took me several weeks to try and get them to understand what I was trying to do with the above. Broadcasting emails: The email template editor is VERY basic and I'm using the new and improved one. Just little things you think they would support but don't. Like being able to upload two images side by side. Or reducing the crazy text padding around text. Price: Seems to be over-priced compared with other competitors. I'm on a $290/yr plan for 1000 contacts and this doesn't even include deliverability reporting.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

Providing a quick, fast way to send segmented emails to my customers and prospects and provide drip campaigns so I can put customers onto an email journey once they become a customer.

"Why I left Convertkit after just 45 days (and ate $750)"
What do you like best about Kit?

Maybe the simplicity of the platform could be seen as an asset?

What do you dislike about Kit?

After working with CK for a few weeks, I began to notice bugs and missing features I decided in the end I just couldn't live without, so now I've *re-migrated* back to my old platform (MailerLite, if you're curious... LOVE THEM) Here's why I left Convertkit: 1. **there's no way to organize uploaded images:** this wasn't a noticeable problem in the beginning, but the emails I sent and the more images I uploaded, it began to take longer and longer to find what I needed 2. **there's no way to embed audio:** as a podcaster, this was vital 3. **the whole automation vs. email sequence thing** was cumbersome to work with But here was the NUMBER ONE THING, the deal-breaker: 1. **there's no way to see metrics for groups or segments of subscribers:** Many of us use Facebook ads or Google ads (or just have various streams of how people find us) and it's essential that we be able to track their engagement data. I was paying $$$ GOOD MONEY $$$ to get leads on Facebook and with ConvertKit I suddenly had *NO IDEA* how this segment of subscribers was performing. I couldn't tell if they were opening my emails, let alone clicking. So I decided to change platforms for the second time in two months. It was a hell of a lot of work. I reached out to CK with my concerns and they stood really strong on their strict "30 days only" refund policy. It didn't matter that I was just 15 days past that, it didn't matter that we'd just had two major national holidays (Christmas and Thanksgiving) during that time, none of it mattered, so I had to eat the hundreds of dollars I'd spent on the annual plan. But for me and my business, I need an email platform that is easy to keep organized and give me metrics that tell me is my ads are working. Convertkit failed.

"Extremely poor customer service."
What do you like best about Kit?

The Wordpress plugin makes it easy to integrate the sign up forms on my posts, pages, blog sidebar. Unfortunately, being unable to import my mailchimp list to convertkit, it is useless.

What do you dislike about Kit?

Their support is not helpful at all. After assuring me that moving from mailchimp to convertikit was "easy" and that "We'll get it working for you! :)" they refused to help when I ran into problems. They moved 171 subscribers but refused to move the whole list of 918 subscribers. Instead, they referred me to their so-called experts who want $500+ to develop a marketing strategy(which I don't even want) after wasting a week of my time.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

"A Powerful and Intuitive Email Marketing Tool."
What do you like best about Kit?

Firstly, I really appreciate how intuitive and easy to use the interface is. Whether I'm creating email campaigns, setting up automation sequences, or managing my subscribers, everything is incredibly streamlined and straightforward.

What do you dislike about Kit?

While the platform provides basic metrics like open and click-through rates, I would like to see more advanced tracking and reporting features.

What problems is Kit solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm able to create custom email sequences and send targeted content to specific segments of my audience. This helps me build stronger relationships with my subscribers and ultimately drive more conversions and sales.
