There are program features that are not only useful but frankly, necessary, for the construction industry. Quickbooks offers inventory, job costing, material tracking all in one. If you really want to know where your income and expenses look like using one software, Quickbooks Enterprise is necessary.
If you have the 3rd party Payroll Company, the payroll feature isn't necessary. However, it would be great if there were a better way to link Quickbooks with the payroll company than just importing/exporting the payroll reports.
Detailed job costing is really great with this. Also tracking where the jobs are actually coming from is greatly helpful. Knowing if wed are getting more cold calls or getting jobs from 3rd party networks we invest in helps us determine if it is worth continuing to contribute to the network costs or not.
Inventory tracking for manufacturing capabilities
I prefer QuickBooks Online canned reports
Inventory tracking and management for our food manufacturing and wholesale clients. Manage multiple company files under a single QuickBooks license.
The features of reporting and ease of use. The navigation to find the options is straight forward and easy to follow. The interface is not intimidating and very intuitive
The customer service could be a little better, took some time to get a response to setup a trial
The problem we solved was replacing on premises dedicated servers t o run GP to going cloud based , reduced cost and IT over head
Intuitive, just open and start using. No need to be tech savvy.
It could be nicer visually, but not a big deal as it doesn’t affect its purpose.
Used it for tracking numbers, it was great.
Logging receipts is a great function so that when you need to do your taxes it's already there!
Nothing so far! It works well for me and my family.
The benefits are the ease of use and how fast and user friendly it is.
We can do accounting and view reports from any corner of the world. No need to maintain and physical server.
We don’t have data backup system in India.
Real time view of books of accounts and reports generated by software is quite useful for management reporting.
I like how it is very accessible with the tools that they provide, and it is extremely easy to use
I don't dislike anything about the software
I have realized that everything appears on one screen between toggling to different areas of the application.
The interface is easy to learn and even a novice is comfortable.
I do not like the yearly upgrades. We interface with 3rd party programs and sometimes it can be difficult set them up.
Keeping and accurate track of inventory and sales
Accounting software written in Non-Accountant speak
Sometimes changes occur without prior notice
Significanly less cost that our prior software package. Easy to deploy
Having an easy software to organize the entire business.
When updates come out that doesn’t make any sense.
Make payroll and paying vendors easy.
Once you get a grasp on how to use QuickBooks, it is easy to access any information you may need. Since my company uses it for product management, it is very simple to login to QB and retrieve any information I need regarding our products.
For "quick" being in the name, QuickBooks sometimes is slower than I would expect. It can take a few minutes to load everything.
As a marketer, I am able to use QuickBooks to quickly retrieve all the info I need on product specs and features. This makes it so I do not need to communicate with multiple people which can sometimes slow down the process. If I need something, I can get it easily from QB.
Very easy to setup since templates are already available for non accountant small business owners.
The format is too open in the accounting program that anything can be deleted or removed.
We are using it for our Accounting Needs for tracking of the revenue and expenses. Having an accounting system helps us producing Valid/Professional Invoices print or emailed to our customers and donors since we are a non profit Funeral Home.
I've been using QuickBooks for the last 22 years. I have to say, the program has evolved with its client base and I am very sorry I didn't switch to a different accounting software. It's very easy to use. The reports are customizable which is a blessing to me.
The only thing I wish was faster was the startup time when you launch the program. I work with hundreds of QB files and when I've got someone on the phone, switching companies leads to a delay in service for the customer.
I'm able to run through clients files quickly and easily with QB. Benefits have been invoices electronically, follow up on past due invoices, customized reporting, running payroll through QB, etc.
Allows great categorization for quarterly estimated taxes and easy to link bank accounts- allows mileage tracking and then review and categorize. Allows to track receipts and simplifies not having to carry paper.
Some banks are not listed. Automated categorization has to sometimes be overridden
Problems is allowing to estimate taxes and earnings and where money coming in from and leaving every month- better insights into spending by categorization
We're still a better fit for Desktop than QBO. At least we can host Desktop to get mobility.
Been using it for years, and it is great. I do wish it was quicker to load. Also, it's our integrated add-ons that really make QB functional.
Great centralized accounting that is easy for non-accountants to use.
