As someone who had very little training from the past employee who held my position, BigTime is very user friendly and quite easy to use and figure out. I enjoy that I can hop on the live support whenever I need to get some extra information. For instance, Leah J, the support tech who helped me today, answered my questions thoroughly and very efficiently. Our interaction was precise and to the point. And I love that we get a record of our converstations so that I can refer back to them as necessary!!
Things seem to change without much notice. For instance, we used an A/R summary report all the time to run 30,60,90 day balances on all our engagements. It was a quick one page document, and seemily, overnight this option disappeared. I have tried to get help to find this feature, or create a custom account, however no one has been able to help me and my emails have been ignored.
BigTime definitely takes a lot of work out of what could be a very timely process in monthly billing. The program also makes staff training easy as well as pairing quite easy with Quickbooks. It makes balancing our ledgers very easy.
It's simple to set up and use. Usually works great. Easy for my team to use too. Sync into QB is a breez. When I do need help, support is quick and friendly. And we get right onto a screen share to fix it instead of chatting forever. Takes mere moments when issues do arise.
I wish it showed clock time - like what time of day a timer starts and ends, and not just duration. The two clicks to start or pause a timer sometimes trips me up. I click start, but not start again, so then I'm guessing how long it has been. Which is where seeing the clock time for the prior work would be helpful. I'd know what time it was when I switched projects but didn't start my timer all the way.
Allows me to import time to projects for both billing and payroll purposes. Once imported into my accounting system, I can run job cost reports that pull in all payroll costs and get my true cost per project. I then check that against my subscription billing, project billing, or hourly billing (depending on the client) and can see where my profitability is highert and lowest
Live chat is available to walk you through processes and management tools. Lots of customization. Easy timesheet, expenses, and invoice reviews. Leah J was awesome!

Having the time and billing all in one place
I really appreciate the customer service. The software is great and we utilize it every day. With any issues that come up, I am able to quickly live chat and every person is great at solving my issues/questions.
Sometimes there are features that arent built out in BigTime yet so I am directed to submit a feature request. However, I am grateful that this is even an option.
It is solving having one central location for our staff to enter work allocations, time entry/timesheets, and invoicing our clients. It tracks all our data in a simple and straight forward manner.
It is very user friendly and support is there (Nate H.) to help and give direct and easy-to-follow instructions if I have questions.

We rarely have any problems. If there are issues, the support staff are always on top of it! Nothing bad to say, ever.
I love that we can customize invoices for exactly what is needed. I love the process controls for invoicing - makes it easy for a team to collaborate for a multi-step process. Piner Markovchick was really fun to work with, was so knowledgable about the details of the application - he made the process enjoyable with little to no stress at all.
I don't like that you have to get into code to customize some invoices. Sometimes when you make an error, the system doesn't actually tell you what the error is. IT JUST SAYS ERROR. And I have to guess.

The best feature of BigTime is time tracking. First, it is easy for employees to record their time. Second, it gives managers the ability to track the time their employees spend on their projects.
Now that I have been using BigTime for almost 2 years, I don't have any issues with it and therefore, nothing that I don't like.
BigTime has changed our way of recording employees' time and invoicing our clients. Putting our time into BigTime is extremely easy for our employees. We can track projects and see productivity in real-time. This then easily translates into our invoices for quick review prior to emailing to clients. The response to the new look of our invoices has been amazing. We have been told they are so easy to review and process for payment. Several of our clients have completed the payment process on their end in a very short period of time, which has led to quicker payment to us.
I chose BigTime for the invoicing capability for architecture firms. I previously created invoices using Microsoft Excel, and BigTime is a vast improvement. The interface is intuitive, so I haven't needed much support. My issues have been resolved using the chat feature when I have needed support. Thank you to Nate H. for helping me to fix my most recent problem.
When I publish an invoice to QuickBooks Online, I wish the BigTime invoice would be attached in QBO. At the moment, I manually attach BigTime invoices in QBO.

I find BigTime very user-friendly in just a short time of using it. Also, if there is something you don't quite understand, you can reach out, and support is so helpful!!!
Give it time to work with what you are trying to accomplish with BigTime. I didn't understand everything right off the bat, but with the support team, it took no time to understand what I needed to.
BigTime is a huge help when it comes to tracking time being spent on our projects, tracking budgets and allowing people to know which projects they are assigned to.
The intuitive nature of the software is a breath of fresh air!
One of the areas that I would hope the Bigtime team would consider involves adding a feature to the payroll system. Currently, the program does not differentiate between regular and PTO hours. We feel it is essential to calculate those hours for our employees so that they/we always know how much they have used and how much remains in their banks. Another helpful upgrade wish involves including a contact list. We use the program to track our projects/clients/hours, and it would be super beneficial to have a global contact list available to all users—a searchable database of clients, vendors, and employees.
The use of the program is incredibly intuitive, and it has been pretty easy for the entire team to jump in and begin to use the system.
BigTime is much easier to navigate and use than our previous time and billing software; the required training, and especially the one-on-one training with project manager Aly was key in preparing me to administer the software.
We have had some trouble getting reports, especially payment vs charges, to look the way our attorneys were accustomed to.
Our previous time and billing software simultaneously stopped supporting our small business configuration and drastically raised their rates. So, it is glorious to have a reasonably priced, robust system. I had to go into the old system recently and found it to be very non-intuitive compared to BigTime.
I find the assigning a task function to an employee the be the most useful tool. Being that you can assign from both the actual employee list and/or the project list, it aids in proper project completion.

I get extensive data on my projects in real time. The dashboard is intuitive and it's easy to stay on top of the administrative tasks. The support team is great! Tyler Gubser has provided quick and clear solutions.
Some of the reports can be tricky to find at first, but it isn't a problem once you get used to where to look. There are so many reports available that it's just a lot to look through at first.
In the past, other programs have made it difficult to collaborate on a project as a team and to see how everyone's workflow comes together. Big time is a great solution for that.
