Servers at Digital Oceans are reliable, easy to use and well documented
Expanding storage size is not very easy and straightforward
Creating cloud platforms and services
Price to specs/performance can't be beat. Lots of options: VPS, containers, block or object storage, firewall, load balancer, internal networking, etc. Lots of products supporting APIs.
I know my way around Linux, but newcomers might be daunted. Add on a cloud control panel like ServerPilot if you need automatic configurations and security updates.
Top performance for multiple clients and startups with limited budgets.
Flexibility of the platform, very predictable costs, user interface is groundbreaking. Customer service is outstanding when you need it.
You can still only be part of one team at a time per email!
DigitalOcean makes it easy to deploy a single VPS or add multi-cloud support to nearly any application stack. Absolutely love the API support and predictable costs for internal projects and clients alike.
There is so much. Quickly and easily start the VPS test server with virtually unlimited configuration operations being cheap. There are a number of predefined distribution stacks to choose from and pre-installed application and configurations
Some key features are not available in multiple datacenters, while other features can not be used with virtual machines located in different datacenters.
In terms of testing large-scale configuration procedures, such as firewalls on a fast cloud platform to redefine, it is unmatched.
The fact that its so easy to use their control panel
Can be restrictive if you need some very specific configurations
Being able to scale up a system quickly when needed. The benefit is that you can spend what you need to and not waste money on resources you don't need at the time.
We use digital ocean services since 2016 and the results are great, with no downtime until now. The admin interface is simple and easy to use. It's a great option for startups, small and big businesses.
This is not an issue, but the transfer limit for small droplets (servers with 512M) is 1000GB. Maybe it could be a little bit bigger.
We can deploy a website or App server really fast.
It is way less complex and has has a way less steep learning curve than Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud.
Many tutorials and docs are outdated and the quality is very heterogenous.
Having cheap and fast machines for deploying code.
It is very simple to use and customize. I can run applications with very few steps. And start new instances of my apps very simply.
Actually nothing, I really like the service.
It's economical, so it helps me save money. It has a good online support. I can run my applications without restrictions.
Simplicity of usage and tutorials available to setup anything
There's really nothing to straight away dislike. We did experience some notices of piracy being run on our droplet, that may be due to reuse of ip. Other service would also suffer from this.
We have our private email server for our club there.
Quick and painless setup, easy to launch VM for testing.
I hope they add more features in the future.
I use it to test new ideas, and for learning new stuff.
I like how fast Digital Ocean spins up new machines and servers. It's super easy to add plugins and use native Linux tools with it.
The pricing structure isn't the best and they stopped honoring existing credits which was a bit of a mess.
They let our team iterate quickly using many different servers and do load balancing for releases.
Amazing, lightning-fast customer support and wonderful UI make hosting simple
Would like to see some integration into GitHub or another code repository.
Building and developing websites internally for marketing, sales and recruitment of employees.
Fast VM setup, low maintenance, automated backups
there is nothing that i dislike so i'm tying out at least 40 characters
Hosting & backup of web-based applications
The ability to quickly spin up/recreate a VM is amazing – it allowed me to have rapid iteration without going through the hassle of managing the VM myself. In addition, elastic IPs allow for quickly switching between production/development environment testing, which is an amazing feature.
Sometimes, shutting down (or starting) a VM took longer than expected and this led to unnecessary downtime, which would have been avoided otherwise.
I am trying to find a better hosting solution for my website and other products – DO made this simple to start off.
The simplicity and price and good reasons to everyone use digitalocean
I really liked all of the stuffs of DigitalOcean
DigitalOcean solved cloud computing ploblem
