Posthog is really helpful in conveying data effectively to use as tool during presentations
Sometimes, Posthog can be difficult to explain to new stakeholders and requires onboarding
PostHog is really helpful when displaying data to non R&D stakeholders
I have used other analytics products (Logrocket) and found Posthog more straightforward and easy to learn. The interface is easy to use. I also like the mouse tracking, the dashboards (they are handy and easy to build). The interactivity of the charts and being able to go from chart to recording is awesome. I also like the hog mode.
Something I don't like is that is that some plugins don't have enough examples on how to get values out of them. For example, https://www.npmjs.com/package/@posthog/first-time-event-tracker. Sounds interesting to rack the first time event of an user, but I don't know how to visualize this information, or where will it appear once I install the plugin. Same with the GeoIP,https://www.npmjs.com/package/@posthog/geoip-plugin there are wayyy too many tags that I don't need, and I don't know how to get rid of them. Maybe I haven't searched well enough. Another thing I would like to do is to be able to access the recordings from the dashboard's home. Right now I have to be on the insight's page to access the recordings. None of these things affect me a lot.
Before, we could not aggregate data. For me is essential to know how much time the users spend in the app. I also know now WHAT they are doing when they are in the app. I can tackle the feature usage for validation after releases too. We also know now who accesses the app. We give access to many users but were unsure who was login in and using it.
I liked the pricing model, also the simple quick start, the immediate response of the open source community team. The recordings are in high resolution and very clear.
I don't have anything that I disliked, there is a common issue with loading non-js files directly, but this is something that posthog are trying to help me with and I appreciate that.
they solve our difficulty to understand how our early customers are using the system, which problems are they facing and what we can do to make our app better.
PostHog is very intuitive. It is easy to setup funnels, A/B test, screen recordings are high quality (the best compared to other tools we used). It gives valuable information about our users. Working in small startup with limited resources it is hard to find the best way how we can improve our product. PostHog is the best solution we found.
I can't say there is something I've noticed. The main problem we face right now is that we don't have enought time and knowledge to set up all metrics we need.
Get information about users behaviour and needs. Our users rarely come to interviews or complete our surveys. Looking into analytics and screen recordings helps us a lot.
Open source and free! Creating insights is super quick and easy.
No offical Rust library. But the HTTP API is simple enough to use instead.
PostHog allows me to store analytics data in confidence while getting great insights for free.
I liked how easy it is to use Posthog compare to other software available like luckyorange.
it was bit hard to understand how to implement the open source part.
It helps us understanding the behaviour of our product users and website visitors
Session Recordings. Being able to identify and understand our users has been very helpful.
I find the extensions/plugins somewhat limiting.
PostHog has been extremely helpful in identifying out UI issues and User Behavior.
Differentiation of Data which can be used for proper analysis of Data. Easy to add parameters. Funnels, Retention, and Trends page to view data. I have been using other tools too.
It is a bit laggy sometimes. It should be improved. It can be easier to segregate Data with small changes in the User Interface. Data collection from the site also can be easier.
Data segregation, analysis, journey breaks, gaps in work, and many more. We use the data to create solutions for everything. I also use it to review the heatmap of our website.
Everything is tracked and recordeded by default The free plan is super generous.
Nothing at all. I really can't find something
See ux issues. Optimize conversion funel
I like that Posthog provides you with many existing events that hook into your product to get you up and running quickly. The webhook feature of Posthog is also extremely useful to allow for capturing your events and exporting them to other databases where they can be manipulated and stored.
I dislike the lack of a central dashboard to view all events. I also dislike that there are no charts that show you the usage of your events, but these can easily be built using patterns.app.
Posthog solves the problem of setting up your product analytics platform. Additionally, it allows you to host your historical analytics in the cloud instead of recording this information yourself.
posthog skips the inactive session, thus saving time
nothing, however I feel video player can be improved
Understand cutomer behaviour, and improve website and user experience
One of the best things about PostHog is how easy it was to install and get started. All I needed need to do is add a few lines of code to our web app. Once I realised that PostHog cloud did not meet our needs I was happy to find there was a self hosted option.
The self-hosted version can be a bit tricky to set up on Amazon Lightsail and I have been unable to get session recordings fully functioning due to a reverse proxy mis-configuration. This is more on the LightSail side though.
Allowing more granular user segmentation based on behaviour Highlighting drop-off at certain points of the product Providing insight into customer support requests
The ease of use. Amplitude is kinda the go-to right now, but it's just too hard to use.
The stock integration with ReactNative/ReactNavigation does not support nested routing.
We wanted an easy way to pull the metrics we need from our app. It helps us to know how we're doing and converting.
The many functionalities available with easy integration
Some things are not easily understood their use
Measure the use of my website and how users interact with it
The UI/UX is awesome, no other service is like Posthog. It is also very simple to create custom events even for our marketing team 😜
For now nothing, maybe the high memory usage for on premises instance but it is ok
Now we are able to track everything on our site and we have to implement feature flags
