The number of email clients available is awesome. Plus, Litmus is great about constantly updating the tool and keeping on top of new features.
Keeping templates and tracking organized is a constant effort. I wish there was a built in process to force you to organize better.
Email rendering, tracking, faster template development. I'm able to code and test seamlessly, which has provided enormous time savings.
I like that it has every type of ESP available to send render tests to before sending to the consumer. This is huge with so many different ESPs out there it is imperative to test on all of them and be able to trouble shoot and make sure the message that is sent is exactly how you want it to look on all platforms.
I wish there was a bigger community of debugging tricks in Litmus. There is a decent community but I feel like it could be bigger. Sometimes the builder option renders correctly but then the checklist option sometimes doesn't reflect it.
Rendering issues in Dark mode. Litmus has been very beneficial for our team as we can feel confident that when it passes the Litmus render check that the email will be sent to our customers exactly how it was designed to.
Litmus is extremely easy to use -and extremely important for anyone sending an email. They have a great platform for checking client rendering, suggesting best practices, as well as workflow help with Litmus Proof and deeper analytics insights with their tokening of campaigns. On top of that, they have a wonderful blog, host webinars, and have a conference as well.
They recently addressed the one pain point I had with being able to push a single email from code to all of the other tabs.
We are catching problems before they arise - allows us to mitigate the chance that something broken goes out. We've also been able to realize deeper insights from the analytics feature.
I feel like it's just the industry standard of what email should be. Along with really good emails their one of the few voices that preach the importance of email, especially accessibility. Beyond that their tool is really just solid in terms of testing different email clients, even their WYSIWYG editor is good.
We haven't really been able to utilize their tracking & analytics because of how our emails are built we're not really able to take advantage of it.
Email accessibility.
The newsletter of industry updates I find to be a very quick and easy tool for relevant items in the email world. The platform itself is very easy to use and powerful to ensure you're getting the most out of your email performance
There are some features left to be desired within email list management.
inbox rendering for the most part. We've caught small, but potentially impactful, issues within our email code base via Litmus.
The best thing about litmus is the fact that they display rendering of how our email will look on every email client that is important to us. There have been other services I have used that do not have all email clients on them.
There is nothing I dislike about litmus. They have a great platform. The only criticism, and s subjective one, is that it is a pricey service for small businesses.
We have solved the issue of sending out emails that do not look how we intended them to on different email clients, or worse yet, are broken.
I like Litmus's multi use platform. The ability to design and test all in one makes effort easy.
Litmus sometimes has a slow effort of support when needing to trouble shoot.
Designing and testing already designed and developed emails.
Litmus is really good in the sense that it eliminates a lot of manual review of emails and renders emails on how it looks in different devices. A great time saver. Several features available though the most useful is sending the test email to a provided litmus id and validating it real time
I would be really happy if litmus has rendering options for a few more devices . That would make it easier for email template verification
Email template rendering verification. Its a great time saver. Helps review email being sent in different browsers and devices instead of manually checking in everything
I love how many email preview options there are for each email client version and device and dark mode. It gives me peace of mind when testing is complete that no surprises are going to happen.
I wish I didn't have to worry about the additional charge per email preview, although it makes sense. Also, one small thing is that there are no email previews that account for the device and browser dark mode settings being mismatched. It is either both are dark mode or neither is, which isn't a common situation but can happen. This is especially true for Google Chrome as "dark mode" isn't as simple as yes/no, instead you can have different themes. That being said, it is nearly impossible to account for all of them.
Litmus allows us to use far fewer hours testing our emails and increases the confidence in our testing results, which makes our clients happy when it comes time to pay the bills and when each email goes out.
While collaboration is not its main selling point, Litmus makes creating a campaign and then receiving feedback very easy. We use Litmus mainly as a setup and testing tool for emails; seeing all the different browser/device/etc versions is invaluable.
Many platforms now offer integrations or native functionality to see how your emails will look in different users' views. Same goes for the ability to set up a creative database containing templates and snippets. If these platforms continue to improve on this function, I could see Litmus being phased out, at least among our use.
Design database and email QAing & testing
I like all the different email clients that I can see my email in. It also has more features that help improve my emails including the spam ratings and subject line optimization testing. The new AI tool is also very helpful.
I wish I could see my preview text in the email tests to see if the white space I created is working. I also wish the new dark mode feature had CSS that I could drop in my template.
Litmus helps me see the obscure and embarrassing "issues" to resolve them before the customer sees them. Viewing my emails in dark mode has been especially helpful.
The best part about Litmus is the engaging webinars they host to provide opportunities for learning and leveling up your skills. There are so many aspects to email marketing and best practices, and I've enjoyed learning from experts in the field who approach email from a variety of angles.
I do feel like I get a lot of emails from Litmus with tips and updates. I would prefer to receive less frequent emails, though I find a good deal of the content valuable. I don't have time to dive into all the content they share.
I don't have much experience in email marketing, and being part of the Litmus community empowers me to learn more about the different levers you can pull and how to create impactful emails.
Previews module is really nice and useful
Limits for previews just run out too fast)
Litmus helps with testing emails a lot
The accessibility of the platform makes it very friendly to use.
Sometimes with outdated version for outlook emails you won't see the issues on Litmus.
QA configurations help us prevent any issues regarding some emails or versions
Litmus is a great tool for reviewing email views before sends. It's great for seeing stakeholder feedback in order to easily tweak the copy or design.
I love it - nothing to complain about here!
Litmus enables the team to review email visuals prior to sends and give feedback in the emails themselves for easy tweaks.
Litmus is an intuitive platform that doesn't take long to learn and because of that, it's easy to share across functions with various stakeholders.
I have yet to take advantage to many of the Litmus capabilities (tracking, optimizing) so currently I am only using Litmus on a limited basis.
Litmus makes it easy and seamless to collect feedback and edits for emails with various stakeholders across the company.
It is easy to give feedback to my peers when I need to
I can't share the litmus link with people who don't have litmus account
All the friction that goes into reviewing and getting out emails
The WYSIWYG feature is great, I love how easy it is to find things in the code box by clicking the area in the image preview. The renderings are also extremely helpful, especially if you missed linking an image here and there.
The disorganization aspect of the home screen for templates. I wish there was a more organized view other than putting everything in folders.
It's allowing me to code templates much faster than my ESP because of the code and template side-by-side view. Saves a lot of time.
I can quickly see rendering issues across devices and apps. The SFMC plug-in is nice.
I wish it would note common issues with specific apps/devices and give coding fix suggestions.
We are a high-end brand and our emails need to reflect that. I feel emails rending correctly helps with customer confidence.
Before using Litmus, our email review process was very manual and tedious. Love how user-friendly and easy Litmus is--it cut down pur email review time drastically!
Would be very useful to see the email copy in preview mode
Reducing the time it takes to review and approve emails. Also brings in more transparency to the process.
