Wrike Review: Is It the Right Project Management Tool for Your Business?

Wrike has been empowering professionals and teams to better manage their work since its launch in 2006. It’s a comprehensive solution for professional service providers, marketing teams, and agencies. But all this versatility comes with a high price tag.

Is it worth it? In this Findstack review, we’re going to find out.

What is Wrike: A Quick Overview

Wrike is an all-in-one work management platform that helps teams collaborate, plan projects, delegate tasks, and track progress. The platform offers a range of plans designed to meet the needs of almost any kind of business. Whether you’re a solopreneur or a department head at a Fortune 500 company, Wrike has a plan for you.

Wrike Dashboard

Wrike’s power lies in its ability to support both project management and collaborative work, which explains its appeal to a wide range of industries. The tool boasts a user-friendly dashboard that’s pretty simple to set up. It’s also very easy to create tasks, assign them to team members, set due dates, and track their progress.

Getting Started With Wrike

Wrike is one of the more intuitive project management tools for a new user to get started with—especially compared to competitors like ClickUp.

Wrike is available to users via web browser, desktop application, and mobile application for both Android and iOS devices.

To get started with Wrike, new users have the option to register for a free account using their business email. Once the email address is verified, users will be redirected to Wrike’s homepage to complete the initial registration process—which involves a guided walkthrough.

How Wrike Works: Key Features

Dashboards

If you’ve ever used a project management tool, Wrike’s Dashboards will feel very familiar.

Wrike Redesign Page

For every project you create in Wrike, you can create Dashboards to display, manipulate, and analyze the project data that you’ve collected within it. They essentially give you an overview of project KPIs, metrics, due dates, and progress at a glance—saving you the hassle of seeking out each piece of data at the source.

When you create a Dashboard, you can start with a template or build one from scratch. If you go the latter route, you have quite a bit of flexibility thanks to a modular design and a wide selection of interactive widgets, including:

  • Assigned tasks
  • Overdue tasks assigned to you
  • Overdue tasks that you assigned
  • Tasks you’re following
Wrike Project management Page

Wrike is unlike a lot of project management tools because everything you need is right at your fingertips. You don’t need to navigate to another window to see it all.

Automation

Like most modern project management tools, Wrike features an automation engine that works in the background to synch related tasks, assign workloads, and ensure tasks are completed on time with botted @mentions and comments.

Wrike Inbox Page

Wrike’s automation engine may not be the most complex or versatile on the market, but it’s intuitive and practical. There’s no feature bloat here—every feature is sure to get some use.

Integrations

On a related note, Wrike’s automation capabilities are supported by 400+ integrations with third-party tools. Pretty much every tool category is covered, including:

  • CRM
  • Communication
  • BI
  • Calendar
  • CMS
  • Storage
  • Accounting
  • Reporting
Wrike Tools

Integrating Wrike with other tools in your stack is a great way to cut out some busy work from daily workstreams and improve productivity. It’s also a surefire way to minimize human error.

Live Analytics

Wrike automatically updates every report, chart, and dashboard every 15 minutes, so you never miss a thing. Wrike Social Media Performance Page

That’s a huge benefit—it means project managers don’t need to manually collect and input data from multiple sources to draw meaningful insight. Less time on busy work means more time analyzing the data for patterns, trends, and inefficiencies.

This feature is also great for project managers who are juggling multiple projects. They get a real-time overview of project statuses, team workloads, pending approvals, and tasks waiting to be assigned, so they can easily prioritize work and make meaningful progress.

Customizable Forms

Wrike has a custom form builder that you can use to create almost any kind of form—from simple team surveys to content request forms.

Wrike Forms

Wrike’s forms are fully customizable, and you can take advantage of role-based access controls to grant or deny access to certain pages or sections. Plus, when you create a new form, it can automatically assign tasks, set due dates based on the submission date, and populate subtasks.

Enterprise-level project management tools

Wrike offers advanced project management tools that you can access on your Home workspace to help you measure key performance indicators.

These tools include time tracking to assist in managing billable hours, visualizing cost and budget calculations, and business intelligence to assess project risk. While these tools are particularly useful for large enterprises with complex needs and a variety of teams, they can also be beneficial for small businesses that plan to scale.

In addition, the platform allows you to share files and publish assets with enterprise-grade security. The sheer number of features may be overwhelming for teams new to project managers, but Wrike provides great walkthroughs and tutorials. You may even discover features by accident that end up accelerating your workflows.

Wrike Revenue Page

Wrike offers pre-built templates based on team roles to simplify task creation. Some of these templates include:

Wrike Tamplates
  • Project performance templates
  • OKR templates
  • Weekly to-do list templates
  • Kanban board project templates
  • Agile and IT templates
  • Content operations templates
  • Quarterly business review templates
  • Ticketing and help desk templates

Collaboration Tools

Wrike—like most project management tools—is designed to make it easier to collaborate with your teams.

All team members have access to a global or project-based live stream of task activity, so nobody is left behind. Team members can easily communicate on specific tasks via comments and notes so that conversations are kept organized. Shared team calendars can be added to the dashboard to help with awareness of progress and submission dates. Wrike Collaboration page

You can also invite third parties such as clients, vendors, or contractors, at no extra cost, to view the status of their projects and provide input that goes towards successful project completion.

Wrike Use Cases

Wrike’s use cases are quite impressive. Over 20,000 companies in over 140 countries have relied on Wrike to streamline their planning processes. These are companies that span a range of industries, including:

  • SaaS
  • Technology
  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • financial services
  • Construction
  • Manufacturing
  • Retail

What makes Wrike stand out from other project management platforms?

Wrike’s easy-to-create (and even easier-to-understand) Gantt chart view sets it apart from many other popular project management platforms. Plus, Wrike offers a range of other views, such as List, Board, Table, File, and Timelog. While this isn’t unique to Wrike, it isn’t super common to have that much flexibility,

Wrike Campaign Page

Overall, Wrike’s differentiating factor is the ease with which you can use it to manipulate project data to gain new perspectives and insights.

Wrike Pricing

Wrike offers a total of five plans, starting from a basic Free option, all the way up to an advanced Pinnacle option for large enterprises with complex needs. Paid plans start at $9.80 per user per month, making Wrike’s pricing a bit more expensive than most other project management tools.

Here’s a breakdown of the plans: Wrike Pricing page

  • Free: Wrike’s free plan is suitable for small teams that are just starting with project management software. However, it has limited feature options, including 2 GB of storage space, and excludes Gantt charts, time-tracking, and many customization tools. The number of active tasks for a free plan is also limited to 200, which can be limiting even for small teams.
  • Team: This plan starts at $9.80 per user per month and is tailored for small teams that want to plan and collaborate on projects. Fortunately, this plan does include the Gantt chart view, 2 GB of storage per person, and the option to integrate with a wide range of services.
  • Business: Priced at $24.80 per user per month, this plan provides access to advanced project management tools. The Business plan has everything you may need for project management for a large team (up to 200 people), with 5 GB of storage per person.
  • Enterprise: The Enterprise plan does not have a stipulated price because Wrike will draw up a plan depending on your business needs. It is a plan to consider for large businesses that require more security controls.
  • Pinnacle: This plan is for large businesses with complex work needs, including billable hours tools, job roles, and tools for planning and tracking effort put into different projects. It comes with 15 GB of storage per person.

Pros and Cons of Wrike

Pros:

  • Wrike offers plans for everyone, from small teams to large corporations.
  • Real-time analytics are updated every 15 minutes.
  • Wrike offers department-specific solutions which help different departments across your business align and communicate projects on one platform.
  • Special customization is available for professional services and marketing and creative teams.
  • Wrike offers training resources to help you get started on the platform.
  • The free plan offers up to 2 GB of storage.
  • It supports eight languages.

Cons:

  • Although the project dashboards are user-friendly, those new to project management software may find Wrike overwhelming due to the wide array of features.
  • Wrike’s costs can be a burden for mid-sized teams – there are cheaper project management tools with roughly equivalent features.
  • Many of Wrike’s useful advanced features are offered as add-ons that can effectively double the price of the tool.
  • The mobile app is not as user-friendly as other project management apps (e.g., Click Up). Managing tasks from the mobile app is not as smooth as using a desktop, and you may find that you’re unable to move and edit tasks.
  • The interactive Gantt chart view is only available in the paid plans.
  • The time-tracking in-app timer is only available on the Business plan and higher, and even small collaborative teams should be able to benefit from this feature.

Is Wrike right for your business?

Wrike is a comprehensive project management platform that also functions as a collaborative work management tool, making it ideal for businesses of all sizes. If you offer professional services or are part of a marketing or creative team, you can certainly benefit from Wrike’s highly customizable features.

It’s important to note that Wrike can be a bit pricey—especially with add-ons. Plus, it may be a bit overpowered for small teams who are looking for simple project management capabilities. That said, it’s a solid tool for managing multiple departments and complex projects.

If you want more insight and information into other project management software, Findstack has more helpful reviews you can take a look at.

"Wrike performance "
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike’s overall performance goals provide for a streamlined method of communication between coworkers and bosses are met well within this application. It keeps everyone up to date in a timely fashion, and it keeps goals organized and centralized.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Even though I like the application use of custom fields, my team and I had a difficult time deleting the field altogether. It was a reoccurring issue however, the Wrike’s help team was quite helpful. They walked us through each step every time the issue occurred. That being said, I did find it to be a glitch in our particular program.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Communication has been much improved since onboarding employees with Wrike. Communication is instantaneous and it prevents important messages from being lost amongst the hundreds of emails people receive in a day.

"Great project management tool"
What do you like best about Wrike?

For someone who is very task-based, I really appreciate how you can set up a task list for specific projects with due dates assigned based on back end timelines, but I do appreciate the flexibility of being able to alter those due dates by selecting all or task by task, if needed. The fact that our team can create multiple project templates based on each sub-team's needs is really important to our day-to-day workflow.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Maybe this is just our instance, but for at least the past year Wrike has sometimes been PAINFULLY slow. That's really the only thing I dislike about the platform.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

We initally implemented Wrike in place of Basecamp because we were completing so many creative and email/webinar projects a month and we needed a more robust tool to house all this information. I feel like our projects are much more organized, and even though things still sometimes slip through the cracks, I think Wrike has put is in a much more efficient place than when we were using Basecamp. It doesn't matter much to me personally as I am executing projects, but our leadership team definitely likes the reporting functionality.

"A robust project management and collaboration tool."
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike has all the primary features you'd expect from this kind of tool - granular permissions, @-tagging people for attention, the ability to setup projects with sub folders, tasks and subtasks. You can create Gantt charts, assign dates and resources, and create custom workflows and statuses. It also has a feature I really like; you can create forms and have them submit directly into specified projects, allowing you to use the tool for feature requests, QA reporting, etc.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Despite all the awesome things Wrike does, it definitely comes with a learning curve. You will definitely want someone to champion it, and while Wrike's documentation is good and their support very helpful, expect to have to reach out to them until you get everything figured out.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

As an agency, one of the biggest challenges is tracking project statuses in a transparent manner. Wrike solves this, without question. Specifically, as the leader of the digital side of our business, I also need to manage and assign lots of projects with tons of tasks each internally, with my team of developers. Wrike is also great for that - all within the same system thanks to its granular permissions.

"Helpful and productive software for project management."
What do you like best about Wrike?

I and my team have been using Wrike for years, because it offers the best quality on the market. The software gives me opportunity to be involved in multiple projects and not to miss even a simple detail. I receive every status update on my phone and i instantly response to any crucial change. I always see which employees are involved in separate projects and for which part they are responsible for. The reporting system is a huge benefit. The price for Wrike is affordable.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The interface is not user friendly. It takes some time for beginners to get used to it. Some video tutorials or hints would be a great benefit. I would like to receive more sophisticated and complex analysis of projects. Also, based on past statistics i would like to see the forecasts of project success rate. Sometimes sending feedback from mobile phone takes some effort, the scrolling is a problem and the system may crash.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

At Carrefour i and my co-workers are involved in many product development projects. Success would be impossible without Wrike. This software gives opportunity to be productive in many separate projects and not to miss even the smallest detail. The reporting system and analysis tools are great benefits. The price for this product is very cheap and worth paying.

"The most sophisticated software for project management."
What do you like best about Wrike?

I have been using Wrike for years, because this software gives opportunity to manage multiple projects at the same time. The interface is very intuitive and simple. I register projects simply, i mention my co-workers with me and can change status of project anytime without struggle. Every update is received on my mobile phone and this makes my life easier. I can send comments on status changes to my employees from phone. The pricing policy of this product is fair enough and i think it is worth buying. The software is best tool in being involved in multiple projects at the same time. I never miss anything using Wrike.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The interface is a bit boring and simple.I wish having more customization tools. I would like to receive more sophisticated and cosmopolitan reports on my mail I would like to see the dynamics of progress of multiple projects. The useful statistics and forecasts would be a perfect benefit. It would be perfect If there were in built video tutorials or more shortcuts for beginners.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a member of Carrefour team, i am involved in multiple projects. I use Wrike in order to be efficient and productive. Using the mentioned software i do not miss any detail of any product. The sophisticated reporting and replying system works perfectly. I receive status updates on my phone and this process makes my corporate life easier. The pricing policy is an additional advantage.

"Conveniently Track Your Team All in One Place"
What do you like best about Wrike?

This is by far the easiest way to delegate tasks, watch employees (near or far), track project progress, and ensure that everything is running smoothly. With multiple projects running at once, and multiple people working on each project, things can get bogged down and communication may not be as fast as it needs to be. In Wrike, I can easily see whatever has been up to, bridge the gap between employees, and go faster with each project. Things seem to come together quicker and much more nicely being able to see everything happen within one application. Highly recommend wrike for any project manager out there struggling to keep everyone on task!

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The only issue we have encountered is that documents must be accessed through Wrike in order for the document to be updated for everyone. For instance, if I were to edit a document that I accessed straight through google sheets, it would not update for someone who would access the same document through Wrike. Our solution to this has been to use Wrike- as in, link the document url within the project tab itself and have everyone access it through that. Easy fix, and keeps things running smooth!

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Slow communication has been bridged, problems with delegating tasks, and moving projects faster.

"Wrike Review"
What do you like best about Wrike?

The upsides of using Wrike is that it is easy to navigate and was very mobile-friendly. The view made it more convenient to prioritize tasks, monitor and control project work, and communicate with team members. I particularly appreciated the prevention of file duplication - the file could live in multiple folders but was not duplicated.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The downsides of using Wrike is that the better features are only available in the higher priced point plans. Also, the timer was a little difficult to find at first.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Wrike has positively impacted our work since the team I work on primarily deals with project management. This has been a great tool to manage our projects, communicate with our teams as well as communicate with our stakeholders.

"Accessible platform for project distribution."
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike is a platform focused on providing the best possible experience during the creation and editing of various business projects, this program is quite complete with respect to functions, and provides the best, to improve the user experience day after day. There are several factors about Wrike that have really caught my attention, because they have helped me develop a good job where in most cases, they represent success. One of these factors are: - Creation of projects with several designs, according to the topics being discussed, to give creativity to it. - Ability to receive collaboration from your team with the help of team communication available on Wrike. - Ease to export all projects made to a cloud, since Wrike is a available to be syncrhonized with the vast majority of cloud storage services.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

Wrike has given me an experience that I should not complain about, because it worked great and provided me with everything I had been needing, however, there are some factors that have been relatively negative and have significantly affected my experience, one of these factors were: - I could not enjoy a full free trial, since it only allowed me to create a project, and did not allow me to join people to my work team. This was something that rarely made it difficult for me to adapt to the platform. - The image sending system during the team chat is deficient, since it does not show preview of the images sent, forcing the user to download it in order to view it.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

During my experience, there were several positive and negative factors that highlighted and improved or worsened my experience, however, I am glad to say that Wrike I have really felt very comfortable, since it has given me the best platform for the creation of projects. I currently use Wrike to create projects in a group way in the company I am currently working on, and I have had a perfect development, since all my projects are more successful.

"Business support for project creation."
What do you like best about Wrike?

Wrike has meant being a fairly stable platform and which guarantees a consecutive advance in the sector and area of business projects. I consider that one of the best factors that Wrike has, is the great variety of templates that it has available for the user, which can be used to establish a diverse design for the projects that are being carried out. Another Wrike is the fact that it allows editing the UI, in this way an interactive design can be added to provide greater comfort during each work session.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

One of the most notable negative factors during my experience with Wrike was when making use of its mobile phone application. I really consider that this application is very little advanced, and that it lacks functions to add, to improve the user experience, one of the things that it lacks are: - Creation of projects. - Project sharing towards other users within the network.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Wrike has represented his functions very well within my company. I believe that this platform has helped me a lot during the elaboration of projects, since it has provided me with functions which help me to complete each one of these projects in much less time. In addition, with the help of Wrike I have been able to have a better team collaboration, with which I have been able to give some kind of support so that my employees can complete their work with business support.

Sometimes the customer service members take a little longer to give solutions to my problems. But as the working of the software is quite useful so this type of uncertainties could be handled.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

I bought this software as a recommendation from my friend because they are using it from many years and nevertheless experience anything bad in it. So, after using it I can now say that thug application is a time end energy savior. It has few layouts that cannot be missed. Apart from this its graphical user interface is much more exciting. Tim management was never that much convenient before it. So, for me project management is so much easier nowadays because of this useful product. In short I can easily match my deadlines and also am able to complete my tasks in tine by this application.

"Great Project Management Software"
What do you like best about Wrike?

My favorite part of Wrike is that I can plan big with tasks and subtasks. It also operates like my calendar, and I know that if I add it to Wrike -- I won't forget about it. I also like that it eliminates the need for paper and hours of inter-office communication just to get organized. I find it very useful.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

The only thing I really dislike is the ability to create recurring tasks -- I feel this feature, while it exists, is a little glitchy. It makes me nervous that it won't carry over all the subtasks, so I generally do this part manually.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creating long-term goals with daily and weekly tasks. Keeping everyone on the same page. Being able to track where everyone is and help out if needed.

"Keeps the projects perspective in orden"
What do you like best about Wrike?

For excellence to work professionally with multiple projects, Wrike is the best option, with tools that improve the workflow, for example, managing projects or campaigns in folders and subfolders, highlighting with labels the appropriate comments for each of them, in addition to the graphic of Gant seems to sit very well with the interface making this software more intuitive and friendly. It has a good tracking system for when working in collaboration with the work team, thus allowing a good management of what is done and the tasks assigned.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

For a software to be really useful in every way, the main thing would be the configuration and it seems that Wrike is not within those terms when it comes to using it for the first time, thus discouraging the first-time user and making the learning curve very long . You have to be prepared for this useful tool and always be up to date with the updates as it is essential for the proper functioning of this software but once you get used to it, Wrike is a piece of cake for you.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have a good experience with project management with Wrike, speeding up the time in which it is administered, being more efficient in the activities assigned and increasing business productivity, incorporating the entire work team by joining them effectivey.
